Privacy and footage care

Families trust us with material they would not put anywhere else. This page describes, plainly, how we handle it.

This page is maintained by Dearly Films and describes our own practices. It is not a certification or an independent audit.

What we collect

Two things: the contact and project details you enter in our inquiry form (name, email, optional phone, occasion, approximate clip count, timing, and your message), and the footage, photos, and audio you upload to your project library once a project begins.

Where footage is stored

Project libraries are hosted with a reputable third-party storage provider on private, access-controlled folders. Access is limited to your assigned editor and the studio lead, and every editor works under a signed confidentiality agreement covering your footage and family details. We do not currently make any claim about the country your files are stored in, and we will only publish one here once it is contractually confirmed to us in writing.

How we use your footage

Only to produce the film you commissioned. We do not sell footage, license it to third parties, use it in advertising, or provide it for AI model training. If we ever want to show a clip as a sample, we ask you first and accept no as an answer.

Retention and deletion

We keep a working copy of your footage for the length of the project and for 90 days after final delivery, so revisions and re-exports are possible. After that it is removed. You can ask us to delete your library at any point, including mid-project, and we will confirm in writing when it is done.

Your originals

Uploading to Dearly Films does not transfer ownership. Your footage and the finished film are yours. We keep no rights beyond producing and delivering your project.

Inquiry form data

Form submissions are sent to the studio inbox so we can reply. We use them to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, to run your project. We do not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and we do not sell contact information.

Payments

Deposits and final payments are handled through a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.

Requests and questions

Email hello@dearlyfilms.com to ask what we hold, request a copy, or ask us to delete your data. We respond within five business days.
